MAPLE RIDGE - Horse Capital of
Canada
District of Maple Ridge web site - district.maple-ridge.bc.ca
Description:Description: Maple Ridge consists
of a series of seven distinct neighbourhoods,
each one born with its own history, each one retaining
its own identity. The city is dominated by hills,
forests, and streams ... by agricultural and forestry
activities. Maple Ridge also contains 160 kilometres
of riding trails, making it the Horse Capital
of Canada.
With its unspoiled lands and forested spaces,
Maple Ridge is frequently the setting for Western
and period films and TV productions. Yet it's
also a growing place for people to live.
Location: The City of Maple Ridge is located
42 kilometres east of Vancouver Centre. It's bordered
by the Fraser River to the south and the Pitt
River to the west.
Population: 60,000
